Hey everybody, long time lurker, first time poster ;D
I'm an avid sample spotter of Vibert's work, particularly the more obscure stuff.
Anyway, I've found some gems. I managed to track down "Bobby and Betty go to the Moon," which Vibert sampled stuff for Big Soup (Citizens of earth origin..), which I think is the coolest stuff I've heard him sample.
Anyway, what are some of the more obscure samples Vibert uses that you guys have found? I spent way too much time trying to track down Vibert's "Disco Computer" track he played live here in Minneapolis a few years ago, only to find out that it's a rare track by TransVolta, and not his.

You know that sublime melody that runs through Cut ('97 remix)? I was a work one day, several years ago, when I overheard, on the oldies station they were playing over the intercom, that very melody on a crusty old oldies tune. I wasn't able to catch who it was or what the name of the track was though... I was like, whoa!

ahh, yes yes!! I forgot about this one. I also heard it on an oldies station in a restaraunt about maybe a year ago. I think it's 70's era, because it was mixed in with other really bad music. I'd love to figure out who it is.
Also, I've been trying to track down the "DBC" sample. I'm about 80% sure it's directly from the Kid Unknown track of the same name, but then I've noticed there's more to the Vibert usage of the sample.
There's an old song by Stetsasonic called "U Da Man" where the guy in the group say, "I am the devastating beat creator," but I still don't think that's where it was sampled from.
The Kid Unknown track was from 1992, and the Stetsasonic album came out in '91.

Luke Samples the shit out of Intellivision video games, "Starbase one" is under attack- from the game space Spartans- The Hello sample in "funnies" comes from the clip "Hello Commander computer reporting" On his tune Mechanical Man he basically uses the voice of Robocop for an mc...

Of course, there's always John Goodman's dialog sampled from the movie Barton Fink in The Life Of The Mind.

the sample from cut 97 is from 'love wont let me wait' by major harris. he sample the disneyland ride 'star tours' on 'the funnies'. he samples the theme from 'the prisoner' (i think) on 'bend over'.
...i know alot more, but i've got to run, so more later.

I've spotted a couple of loops from "Tower of Power" here and there. The drum loop from "Juicy Luke Vibert" is from "Squib Cakes" and has been sampled alot by everyone so I guess thats no news to anyone. There is another horn line that he loops from a TOP album I used to have a few years ago - I cant even remember the nam e of Luke's track, but when it comes on I recognise the horn line. Ok, this one is bugging me now.
Where are the "cha cha cha" samples in "Disco Bus" off Kerrier District from? I've heard them in "Cha cha" by Balkan Beat Box. They also use the "boom chak boomboombomm chak" samples that are also in "Yesco" -- Anyone know where these are from?

I just heard Electro Gangsta for the first time and noticed that it samples the intro from Man Parrish's Boogie Down Bronx.

The other day, my wife and I were watching DVDs of old Dick Van Dyke Show episodes, and I was surprised to hear a snipet of dialog that Luke had sampled. The sample is an englishman saying, "Alright then, off we go, there we are."
